Adventure Challenge
About the Challenge: Join Fifty West Brewing Company, in the spirit of both competition and adventure, for our inaugural USARA sanctioned Fifty West Adventure Challenge. This challenge will test all participants in the disciplines of Running, Canoeing or Kayaking, and Cycling. Competitors will range from single entry (both male and female) and teams. We hope you’ll join us for the ride!
Entry Fee: $60.00 Individual / $105.00 Team
Additional Fee: $15.00 if you wish to purchase a challenge t-shirt during registration
Entry Fee includes: The Fifty West Adventure Challenge is USARA Sanctioned, and the entry fee includes one-day USARA membership as well as individual challenge insurance. Your entry fee also includes transition areas, finish line announcer, awards for top 3 finishers by sex and team, giveaways, and access to the post-challenge ceremony and refueling party at Fifty West Production Works.
Liability Waiver: All participants will be required to sign a lability waiver during challenge check-in.

About the Challenge: 4.5 Mile Run, 5 Mile Canoe or Kayak, 25.4 Mile Bike (see Maps for exact routes)
Run: The run will consist of 4.5 miles beginning at Fifty West Cycling, moving East along the lush Little Miami Bike Trail. Competitors will then exit the path at Terrace Place, running through Kroger Park, snaking along Miami Avenue and Longworth Streets, and finally completing this portion of the race at the Terrell Park Trailhead.
Canoe: Upon completing the run, enter the Miami River via the Terrel Park Trailhead Access Ramp, where all canoes and kayaks will be positioned for the canoe portion of the race. Competitors, will paddle West down the Little Miami River for 5 miles, finishing this segment at the Fifty West campus, just beyond the Newtown Bridge.
Bike: Run out of the Little Miami River up the 50W Canoe Access Ramp, next to the Newtown Bridge, as you transition to the bike portion of the challenge. Cyclists will compete on a 25.4 mile course along the Little Miami Bike Trail, with a turn-around near the Eads Fence Company, just before East Broadway Street in Loveland. Cyclists will then ride back to the finish line at 50W Cycling Company.
Competitors will be required to provide any and necessary equipment to compete, from shoes, to bikes, to hydration and sustenance. We will have hydration stations peppered throughout the adventure challenge course. Bringing your own watercraft is encouraged.
Boat Rentals: We encourage competitors to bring their own boats and equipment. However, A limited number of canoes and kayaks will be available to rent for the race on a first come first serve basis. Please indicate you’ll need a rental via registration. Kayaks are $20 for an individual and Canoes are $40 total per team, and include a life jacket.
All participants are required to wear a Type I, II, or III PFD while boating. Life jackets will be provided with canoe rental.

If you’re renting a boat, please review our boat rental Liability Waiver, which is a fill-able PDF. We encourage you to complete and print the liability waiver, and bring it with you to expedite your experience. All members of your party must individually fill out and execute this liability waiver. We will also have waivers onsite when you check in.
Bike Rentals: A limited number of bike rentals will be available through Fifty West Cycling, please contact them directly at 513-731-9111.
All participants are required to wear a certified bicycling helmet (CPSC marked bicycling helmets) while biking.
Competition: This event will not be a timed event. Winners will be categorized by the following:
*The first three competitors who cross the finish line: First 3 Female competitors, First 3 Male Competitors, First 3 Teams.
Lodging: Mariemont Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Homewood Suites
Any additional information regarding the challenge will be posted on this website, including check-in protocol, where to drop your watercraft prior to the race, etc. as the race date approaches.
